In the spring of each year, Emmanuel Reformed Baptist Church is host to a retreat for couples. The retreat is open to all couples who wish to come and be instructed and encouraged in their marriages by what the Bible has to say concerning the blessings and responsibilities of the husband and wife relationship.
The retreat is also a wonderful opportunity to spend time alone together as well as to enjoy fellowship with other couples.
This year’s retreat will be held Friday and Saturday, May 6th and 7th in the beautiful little Bavarian village of Leavenworth, WA. We will meet at the First Baptist Church of Leavenworth located right across the street from the main downtown area. The address is 429 Evans St Leavenworth, WA 98826.
The first session begins Friday at 7pm. If you can, arrive in Leavenworth early and visit the village ahead of time. The second session is Saturday at 11am.
Our speaker this year will be Pastor Lee McKinnon of Covenant Reformed Baptist Church of Bluefield West Virginia.
Though originally from the state of Washington, Pastor McKinnon spent most of his teen years in the mountains of southwest Virginia. It is here that he met and married his high school sweetheart, Wanda. A week after their wedding they moved to Lee’s hometown in western Washington. This is where they were in August of 1973 when the Lord saved them both on the same evening, under the same Gospel message preached. Lee and Wanda have one daughter and three grandsons.
